The children who participated in the first  July 4th Harlem Children’s Parade have graduated from college and are, perhaps, even enjoying Uptown Battle of the Bars right now. The Independence Day festivity has endured the welcoming, returning, and growing up of thousands of Harlem kids over the past two decades. After all,  fire trucks and hot summer water play (now replete with yoga!) never go out of style. The day starts at 10am at 115th Street & Morningside and includes fire truck rides, fire truck spray after the parade, prizes for best decorated bikes and scooters, and snacks for the kids. Parade line-up begins at 10:45am, and the fun ensues all day.

This year’s event is hosted by Vincent Morgan and Shola Lynch, and has been sponsored by HarlemNOW, Harlem4Kids, Land Yoga, and Harlem Park to Park. All are welcome. Don’t forget your swimsuit and water shoes!
